The Salpointe Catholic Lancers will be playing at home against the Tucson High Magnet School Badgers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Salpointe Catholic will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Salpointe Catholic is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Ironwood Ridge: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Salpointe Catholic blew Ironwood Ridge out of the water with a 66-21 final score. Salpointe Catholic had a senior duo take command as Jolee Nelson went 5 for 6 en route to 12 points and four steals and Sidney Anderson posted ten points. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for Nelson. Allison Even was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Salpointe Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Tucson High Magnet School played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Rincon/University 63-29. The Badgers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Salpointe Catholic pushed their record up to 21-4 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Tucson High Magnet School, they now have a losing record at 11-12.

Everything came up roses for Salpointe Catholic against Tucson High Magnet School in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as the squad secured a 71-34 win. In that contest, Salpointe Catholic amassed a halftime lead of 40-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
