Softball Recap: Tuttle Picks Up 13th Straight Win on the Road

Tuttle's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's sixth consecutive shutout on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Charles Page Sandites a 7-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Avery Laird, who gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Charles Page off the board.

On the hitting side, Tuttle's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kynlee Swain, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run. Grace Mahan was another, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Tuttle's win was their 13th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 26-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Charles Page, they moved to 19-12 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Tuttle didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-3 defeat against Bixby on the 26th. As for Charles Page, their homestand will continue as they prepare to take on Hilldale at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Sandites' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
