Recap: Del Oro Golden Eagles vs. Chico Panthers
The Del Oro Golden Eagles's game on Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They managed a 58-54 victory over Chico. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Del Oro also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2022.
Leading Del Oro to victory were Shaelyn Parry and Ysabella Von seipler. Parry scored 14 points, while Von seipler scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Romani, who scored 6 points.
Chico's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Taylee Clements, who scored 21 points, and Corrina Stephens who scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds. Stephens is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Josie Carlos was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 5 assists.
The victory got Del Oro back to even at 1-1. As for Chico, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Del Oro will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Francis at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully St. Francis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Wednesday. As for Chico, they will head out on the road to face off against Antelope at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
