Softball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Sonoraville's 14th in Last 15 Outings

Sonoraville barely beat Adairsville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Phoenix never let the Tigers get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Saturday. The Phoenix might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Lila Mullinax looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Cadence Mulkey was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Marley Hall was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Sonoraville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Adairsville only posted an OBP of .100.

Sonoraville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Adairsville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sonoraville will venture away from home to challenge North Murray at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Adairsville, they will head out to face off against Heritage at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Generals have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
