Football Recap: Fredericktown Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fredericktown can now relate to. They took a 51-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fairview Warriors on Friday. The Freddies have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Fairview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Burke Lowry led the charge by throwing for 322 yards and four TDs while completing 77.3% of his passes. Lowry's passing game has become a key predictor of the Warriors' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Will Allen did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 72 receiving yards.

Fredericktown's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Fairview, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

Fredericktown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fairview, they are taking a road trip to face off against Triway at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Titans' defense has only allowed 14.6 points per game this season, so the Warriors' offense will have their work cut out for them.
