Soccer Game Preview: Bentley vs. Head-Royce

Bentley hasn't had much luck against Head-Royce recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Phoenix will venture away from home to challenge the Jayhawks at 3:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Bentley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of California's top teams: Athenian, who was ranked seventh at the time (Bentley was ranked fifth). The Phoenix's defense stepped up to hand the Owls an 8-0 shutout on Tuesday. Max Westen was a massive factor in the win as he booted in four goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Head-Royce entered their tilt with Cristo Rey De La Salle on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 3-0 win. That's two games straight that Head-Royce have won by exactly three goals.

Head-Royce's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Bentley, their win bumped their record up to 11-2-1.

Bentley might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Head-Royce when the teams last played back in September. Can the Phoenix avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
