Softball Recap: Strasburg Has No Trouble Against the Academy

Strasburg had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt The Academy on Thursday. The Indians blew past the Wildcats 18-3. Considering the Indians have won four games by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Addi Kent was a standout: she fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 12 matchups. Another player making a difference was Madi Olsen, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Strasburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Strasburg's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for The Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Strasburg didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-4 win against Vista PEAK Prep on the 13th. As for The Academy, they will take on University at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 12.3 runs per game this season.
