Basketball Game Preview: Foothill Knights vs. Whittier Christian Heralds

Two dominant guards in Elize McAveney and Andrea Padilla are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Foothill Knights will take on the Whittier Christian Heralds at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Foothill is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 55 points on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Canyon on Saturday. They were outmatched by the Comanches and fell 50-18. The contest marked the Knights' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Whittier Christian waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cardinals 58-25. While the Heralds didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Whittier Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Foothill, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Foothill beat Whittier Christian 47-35 when the teams last played back in November of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
