Basketball Recap: Coronado Comes Up Short

Coronado has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-37 heartbreaker at the hands of the Franklin Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-49 back in January.

Despite the loss, Coronado still got an impressive performance from Roberto Lopez, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 13 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Jazhiel Herrera, who posted nine points and eight rebounds.

Coronado's defeat dropped their record down to 19-10. As for Franklin, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-13.

Coronado has already played their next match, a 64-46 win against Pebble Hills on the 11th. As for Franklin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-58 loss against Montwood on the 11th.
