Basketball Recap: Weed Picks Up 15th Straight Win at Home

Weed proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 39) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Trinity Wolves 56-53. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Wolves back in January, they had to take a 40-33 loss.

Trinity lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kloe Kist, who posted 20 points and three steals. Her afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Braelynn Nugent was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds.

Weed's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points over those games. As for Trinity, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-7.
