Basketball Game Preview: Willits Wolverines vs. Redwood Christian Eagles

The Willits Wolverines will take on the Redwood Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Willits will be strutting in after a victory while Redwood Christian will be coming in after a defeat.

Willits will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 18 points on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Technology on Thursday. Willits really took it to Technology for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-20 win. The Wolverines have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 22 points or more this season.

Willits' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lyly Herman, who went 5-for-10 en route to 14 points and three steals. What's more, Herman also posted a 50% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Arion Martin, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine boards.

Meanwhile, Redwood Christian had to suffer through a 61-21 loss at the hands of Making Waves Academy. The Eagles have struggled against the Marlins recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Willits' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.5 points over those games. As for Redwood Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 14-12.
