Softball Recap: Westside Comes Up Short

Westside extended their losing streak to eight on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-10. They lost 17-2 to the Rutland Hurricanes. The Seminoles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hurricanes from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

As for Rutland, their win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-18. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for their hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

For Rutland's part, Aubrey Moore was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave Moore a new career-high. Ava Bean was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three runs.

While Westside had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
