Softball Recap: Towns County Comes Up Short

Towns County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 9-1 to the Washington-Wilkes Tigers. The Indians were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Towns County's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Washington-Wilkes, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8.

Looking ahead, Towns County will welcome East Hall at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season. As for Washington-Wilkes, they will head out to take on Burke County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
