Basketball Recap: Greater Johnstown Takes a Loss

Greater Johnstown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 60-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bishop Carroll Huskies. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Huskies earlier this season, when they won 69-60.

Bishop Carroll's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emily Lucko, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Lucko a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Ava Pablic, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds.

Greater Johnstown's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Bishop Carroll, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Looking ahead, Greater Johnstown and Central Cambria will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Bishop Carroll does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
