Softball Recap: Crete Has No Trouble Against Auburn

Crete won the last time they faced Auburn and things went their way on Friday too. The Cardinals blew past the Bulldogs 9-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cardinals.

The team relied heavily on Kacey Dunaway, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Natalie Davis, who earned three runs and three stolen bases.

Crete was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Auburn only posted a batting average of .167.

Crete has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Auburn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crete will welcome Norris at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Cardinals' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Auburn, they will host Wilber-Clatonia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
