Basketball Recap: Arlington Comes Up Short

Arlington was the 31-23 winner over Lakeside when they last played one another on January 9th, but their luck changed this time around. The Arlington Lions took a 38-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lakeside Lancers on Tuesday. The Lions just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Angela Serrano had a dynamite game for Lakeside, dropping a double-double on ten points and 16 boards. Those 16 rebounds gave Serrano a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elise Henderson, who posted seven points along with seven boards and five steals.

Arlington's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Lakeside, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arlington will head out to square off against Vista del Lago at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Arlington is facing Vista del Lago at the right time seeing as Vista del Lago is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Lakeside has already played their next game (against Perris), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
