Recap: Oxnard Yellowjackets vs. Rio Mesa Spartans
The Oxnard Yellowjackets can now show off 17 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 88-28 win over Rio Mesa at home. The win was nothing new for Oxnard as they're now sitting on four straight.
Mikayla Oliver continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with seven steals. Another player making a difference was Kayla Lumas, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Oxnard has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. As for Rio Mesa, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-20.
Oxnard will head out on the road to take on Dos Pueblos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dos Pueblos is on a ten-game streak of home wins, Oxnard a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Rio Mesa will take on Pacifica at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pacifica comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
