Soccer Game Preview: Minooka vs. Andrew

The Minooka Indians will venture away from home to square off against the Andrew Thunderbolts at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Minooka is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Plainfield East just ended the team's four-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Bengals by a score of 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Minooka came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Plainfield East are ranked 215th).

Meanwhile, Andrew has been on a difficult stretch since their win on September 25. They lost 5-1 to Kankakee on Saturday.

Andrew's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10-3. As for Minooka, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 16-2.

Minooka was able to grind out a solid victory over Andrew in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
