Basketball Game Preview: Foresthill Wildfires vs. Sacramento Adventist Capitals

The Foresthill Wildfires will take on the Sacramento Adventist Capitals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Foresthill's defense has only allowed 24.9 points per game this season, so Sacramento Adventist's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Foresthill is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They secured a 34-28 W over Turlock Christian.

Meanwhile, Sacramento Adventist was fully in charge on Thursday, breezing past Buckingham Charter 48-20. The Capitals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Foresthill better keep an eye on Kyla Friedrich. She was instrumental in Sacramento Adventist's win, going 9-for-13 on her way to 20 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Friedrich has scored at least a third of Sacramento Adventist's points. Gwen Rosich was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to 11 boards and four steals.

Sacramento Adventist smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Foresthill has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.7 points over those games. As for Sacramento Adventist, their record now sits at 19-6.

Foresthill lost to Sacramento Adventist on the road by a decisive 49-34 margin when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Foresthill avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
