Preview: Sharpsville Blue Devils vs. Sharon Tigers
Sharpsville is 8-2 against Sharon since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Sharpsville Blue Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Sharon Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Sharpsville is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Sharpsville beat Hickory 49-44.
Sharpsville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooklyn Ramsey, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Macie Steiner, who scored 15 points.
Sharon posted their biggest victory yet this season on Wednesday. They blew past Jamestown, posting a 64-27 win on the road. Given Sharon's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while Jamestown is ranked 595th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sharpsville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. As for Sharon, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
Sharpsville strolled past Sharon when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 46-30. Does Sharpsville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sharon turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
