Preview: Corcoran Panthers vs. Granite Hills Grizzlies
The Corcoran Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Granite Hills Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Corcoran is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
Corcoran put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They really took it to Summit Charter Collegiate Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-29 win at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Corcoran has posted since November 30, 2023.
Corcoran can attribute much of their success to Katalina Castillo, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds, and Emilee Santos, who scored 16 points. Kaelynn Castillo was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Granite Hills was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 32-28 to Woodlake. Granite Hills has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Corcoran's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Granite Hills, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Corcoran against Granite Hills in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 51-18 win. Will Corcoran repeat their success, or does Granite Hills have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
