Football Recap: St. Thomas More Comes Up Short + How To Watch

St. Thomas More extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-3. They were outmatched by the Metro-East Lutheran Knights and fell 60-26. The Sabers were down 46-20 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

As for Metro-East Lutheran, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 49.3 points this season.

Leading Metro-East Lutheran to victory were Abe Oberhauser and Lee Watson. Oberhauser rushed for 123 yards and three scores on only 11 carries, while Watson rushed for 224 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. Those 224 rushing yards gave Watson a new career-high. Ian Skelton also helped out with an impressive 83 receiving yards.

Looking ahead, St. Thomas More will challenge South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Metro-East Lutheran, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Blue Ridge at 7:00 p.m.
