Community Baptist and Surry HomeSchool are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Conquerors will host the Runnin' Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Community Baptist is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Millers Creek Christian on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Conquerors took a blow against the Lions, falling 53-18. The defeat continues a trend for the Conquerors in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost six in a row.

Community Baptist's loss came about despite a quality game from Luke Preston, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Surry HomeSchool got the win against NC H on Tuesday by a conclusive 77-51. The Runnin' Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 25 points or more this season.

Surry HomeSchool's win came from a few key players Community Baptist will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Heath Clark, who scored 27 points. Another player making a difference was Dylan Butcher, who had 20 points.

Community Baptist now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Surry HomeSchool, they now have a winning record of 5-4-1.

Community Baptist couldn't quite get it done against Surry HomeSchool when the teams last played back in January of 2024 as they fell 68-55. Can the Conquerors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
