Basketball Recap: London Lee Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Pleasant Grove

McClatchy won the last time they faced Pleasant Grove and things went their way on Monday too. The Lions were the clear victors by a 71-45 margin over the Eagles. With the Lions ahead 40-19 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McClatchy to victory, but perhaps none more so than London Lee, who posted 20 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Daisy Throckmorton, who scored 17 points and five rebounds.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kate Myers, who earned 15 points along with eight boards and seven assists. Myers has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anniyah Banks, who shot 64% from the field on her way to 14 points and six boards.

McClatchy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Pleasant Grove, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, McClatchy will head out on the road to face off against St. Francis at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pleasant Grove, they will be taking part in a tournament against Lincoln at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
