Basketball Recap: Mcclatchy Has No Trouble Against Pleasant Grove

McClatchy won the last time they faced Pleasant Grove and things went their way on Monday too. The Lions were the clear victors by a 71-45 margin over the Eagles. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Lions' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Eagles are ranked 306th).

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kate Myers, who posted 15 points in addition to eight boards and seven assists. Myers has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Anniyah Banks was another key player, going 7-for-11 to rack up 14 points and six boards.

McClatchy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Pleasant Grove, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

McClatchy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 61-41 victory against St. Francis on the 4th. As for Pleasant Grove, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-58 loss against Lincoln on the 4th.
