Football Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Jefferson's offense. They lost 20-0 to the Mahtomedi Zephyrs on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Zephyrs are ranked 86th).

Joe Moore threw for 136 yards on 12 of 21 attempts. Judah Sorenson was his top target, picking up 47 receiving yards. On the ground, Abram Bruggeman rushed for 38 yards.

Jefferson's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Mahtomedi, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Jefferson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 24-17 win against St. Louis Park on the 3rd. As for Mahtomedi, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 39-6 victory against Tartan on the 3rd.
