Softball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Yutan-Mead

Yutan-Mead came out on top against Twin River on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run second inning. The Patriots' pitcher stepped up to hand the Titans a 10-0 shutout. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 9-1 victory the Titans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Jordyn Campbell was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kylie Woster, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Yutan-Mead has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 10.5 runs this season. As for Twin River, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Yutan-Mead will square off against rival Raymond Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Twin River is set to challenge their familiar foe NEN at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Titans 3.5, NEN 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
