Basketball Game Preview: McConnellsburg Spartans vs. Southern Fulton Indians

McConnellsburg and Southern Fulton are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The McConnellsburg Spartans will be playing at home against the Southern Fulton Indians at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Monday, McConnellsburg came up short against Everett and fell 54-41.

Meanwhile, Southern Fulton had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They walked away with a 49-38 win over Fannett Metal.

Southern Fulton's win came from a few key players McConnellsburg will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Claire Harvey, who posted 20 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. That makes it ten consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Southern Fulton's points. Another player making a difference was Sosefina Ah Loe, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 boards.

Southern Fulton pushed their record up to 10-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for McConnellsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.
