Basketball Recap: Santa Ana Valley Takes a Loss

Santa Ana Valley played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 62-24 defeat at the hands of the Trabuco Hills Mustangs. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-13.

Despite the loss, Santa Ana Valley saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jayleen Roldan posted 11 points. That was a full 45.8% of Santa Ana Valley's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Santa Ana Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Trabuco Hills, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Santa Ana Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 60-9 loss against Villa Park on the 9th. As for Trabuco Hills, they will square off against Torrance at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Trabuco Hills has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
