Football Game Preview: Central York Panthers vs. Wilson Bulldogs + How To Watch

Central York has won eight straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Wilson has won eight straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Panthers will host the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Central York is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 42.2 points per game this season.

On Friday, Central York humbled Cedar Cliff with a 42-7 victory. The Panthers' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Central York's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brendyn Smith led the charge by picking up 115 receiving yards and five TDs. Smith's receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 105 receiving yards. Legend Johnson handled things on the ground, rushing for 112 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Wilson walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 28-14 win over the Bearcats on Friday. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 28-8 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bearcats cut but never quite recovered from.

Wilson's win came from a few key players Central York will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mason Young, who threw for 174 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Wilson's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Michael Glover, who gained 87 total yards and two touchdowns.

Central York's record is now 10-1. As for Wilson, their record now sits at 9-2.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Central York has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 151.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Wilson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 149.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
