Basketball Recap: Bellefonte Comes Up Short

Bellefonte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss. They were dealt a 64-24 defeat at the hands of the Clearfield Bison. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-17.

Clearfield was led to victory by Sonny Diehl and Eve Helsel. Diehl dropped a double-double on 19 points and 20 boards, while Helsel went 10 of 17 on her way to 23 points and six steals. The dominant performance also gave Diehl a new career-high in blocks (three). Mia Helsel was another key player, putting up 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Bellefonte's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Clearfield, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-4.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Bishop Guilfoyle the next time they take the court. Clearfield will head out to face Bishop Guilfoyle at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, while Bellefonte will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
