Newkirk came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Chandler, falling 12-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Tigers have suffered since September 10, 2024.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Blackwell, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Stroud on Friday, sneaking past 5-3. The Maroons' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Blackwell's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Newkirk, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Newkirk couldn't quite get it done against Blackwell in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 as they fell 7-4. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
