Basketball Recap: Torrey Pines Falls Despite Big Games from Katie Tal and Harper Kelley

Torrey Pines has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 56-47 to the JSerra Catholic Lions on Saturday.

Despite the defeat, Torrey Pines had strong showings from Harper Kelley, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards, and Katie Tal, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 14 points. The dominant performance also gave Kelley a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Brooke Thomas, who posted eight points.

Torrey Pines' record is now 7-3. As for JSerra Catholic, with the victory, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-8.

Torrey Pines will take on Hilltop at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for JSerra Catholic, they will take on Corner Canyon in a tournament on Monday. JSerra Catholic has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
