Basketball Game Preview: Lincoln Tigers vs. Marquez Gladiators

The Lincoln Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the Marquez Gladiators at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Lincoln came up short against Santee on Wednesday, falling 59-36.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marquez). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Gertz-Ressler 58-15. Marquez's win was all the more impressive since the Pumas were averaging only 30 points allowed on the season.

Marquez had a senior duo take command as Corshell Vaughn dropped a double-double on 14 points and 23 rebounds and Magaly Gonzalez dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. Vaughn has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more boards the last 22 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Larios, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Marquez, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Lincoln strolled past Marquez when the teams last played back in February of 2016 by a score of 48-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lincoln since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
