Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Philipsburg-Osceola). They strolled past the Bellefonte Raiders with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 53-36. The victory was some much needed relief for the Mountaineers as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Philipsburg-Osceola had a senior duo take command as Maddy Malinich went 6 for 15 en route to 20 points and seven steals and Lily Warlow went 7 of 17 on her way to 19 points and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Malinich has scored at least a third of Philipsburg-Osceola's points. Kaycie Hughes was another key player, putting up six points.

Philipsburg-Osceola's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-11 and their overall record up to 2-13. As for Bellefonte, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Philipsburg-Osceola and Bellefonte could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings.
