Soccer Game Preview: Grand Terrace vs. Arroyo Valley

The Grand Terrace Titans will venture away from home to square off against the Arroyo Valley Hawks at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Grand Terrace has three straight wins, Arroyo Valley has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Grand Terrace will bounce into Friday's match after beating Bloomington, who they had gone 1-7-1 against in their nine prior meetings. Grand Terrace never let Bloomington onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Wednesday. Give the Titans' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Meanwhile, Arroyo Valley fell victim to Summit and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the SkyHawks. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 918th, while the SkyHawks are ranked 418th).

Grand Terrace's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Arroyo Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11-2.

Grand Terrace was able to grind out a solid victory over Arroyo Valley in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 2-0. Does Grand Terrace have another victory up their sleeve, or will Arroyo Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
