Preview: Upper Merion Area Vikings vs. Collegium Charter Cougar
The Upper Merion Area Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Collegium Charter Cougar at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Upper Merion Area couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell to Great Valley 32-26.
Olivia Smith put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 4 points along with 11 rebounds and 4 steals.
Meanwhile, Collegium Charter's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a 61-42 bruising from Owen J. Roberts.
Despite their loss, Collegium Charter saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Nasira Towles, who scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds and 6 steals, was perhaps the best of all. Towles is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madden Alexander, who scored 10 points along with 7 assists and 4 steals.
Upper Merion Area's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Collegium Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
