Preview: Vasquez Mustangs vs. Adelanto Saints
After two games on the road, Vasquez is heading back home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Adelanto Saints at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Vasquez narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Castaic 41-38.
Meanwhile, winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 25 to 8 on the offensive boards, a fact Adelanto proved on Thursday. They came out on top against Apple Valley by a score of 50-39.
Nina Lacy continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 18 rebounds. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Adelanto's points. Another player making a difference was Acacia Netto, who scored eight points.
Vasquez is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Adelanto, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
