Basketball Recap: Northern Cambria Takes a Loss

Northern Cambria played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 41-20 to the Conemaugh Township Indians. The Colts were down 35-13 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Ava Byer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Conemaugh Township, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. Byer is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Katrina McCann, who posted six points in addition to seven steals and six boards.

Northern Cambria dropped their record down to 0-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Conemaugh Township, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Northern Cambria will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Conemaugh Valley at 7:16 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Conemaugh Township, they are taking a road trip to take on North Star at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Conemaugh Township is facing North Star at the right time seeing as North Star is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
