Soccer Recap: Lovejoy Takes a Loss

After soaring to five goals the game before, Lovejoy was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They came up short against the McIntosh Chiefs, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 276th, while the Chiefs are ranked fourth).

Lovejoy dropped their record down to 1-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for McIntosh, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Lovejoy duke it out with Newnan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for McIntosh, they will take on Northgate at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. McIntosh has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 25 goals over their last three contests.
