Baseball Game Preview: West Monroe Rebels vs. Ruston Bearcats

For the second straight game, West Monroe will face off against Ruston. The Rebels will venture away from home to face off against the Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Monroe will be looking to extend their current 15-game winning streak.

West Monroe is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Louisiana's top teams: Ruston, who was ranked 16th at the time (West Monroe was ranked ninth). The Rebels walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Bearcats on Thursday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Bradyn Cupit tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Peyton Starr was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Gage Carr also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

West Monroe pushed their record up to 22-6-1 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home.
