Hilltop has gone 9-1 against Sweetwater recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Hilltop Lancers are taking a road trip to face off against the Sweetwater Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hilltop has five straight wins, Sweetwater has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Hilltop's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They beat Olympian by a goal, winning 1-0. The Lancers' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matches.

Meanwhile, Sweetwater's game on Tuesday was all tied up 2-2 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They lost 5-2 to Southwest SD.

Alexi Montoya and Natalie Angel scored both of Sweetwater's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 19 goals.

Hilltop has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 36 goals over those nine contests. As for Sweetwater, they now have a losing record at 8-9-1.

Everything went Hilltop's way against Sweetwater in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Hilltop made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hilltop since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
