Soccer Game Preview: Willowbrook vs. Rolling Meadows

The Willowbrook Warriors will head out to square off against the Rolling Meadows Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Willowbrook is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Willowbrook is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Saturday, they were much more limited against Berwyn/Cicero Morton on Tuesday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 7-1. While losing is never fun, Willowbrook can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 239th, while Berwyn/Cicero Morton are ranked fifth).

Willowbrook's goal came courtesy of Josias Garcia-Marquez, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Rolling Meadows hadn't done well against Buffalo Grove recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Mustangs' defense stepped up to hand the Bison a 1-0 shutout. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Rolling Meadows were the better team in the second half.

Rolling Meadows' victory ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 3-11-4. As for Willowbrook, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.
