Basketball Recap: Avonworth Comes Up Short

If Avonworth was feeling good fresh off their 71-26 takedown of Ligonier Valley last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Avonworth Antelopes fell just short of the Fox Chapel Foxes by a score of 63-61 on Monday. The Antelopes haven't had much luck with the Foxes recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Avonworth's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Fox Chapel, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.

Avonworth does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fox Chapel, they will face off against Shady Side Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Shady Side Academy will roll in looking for their 23rd straight win, something Fox Chapel surely won't give up without a fight.
