Football Recap: North Star Skates Past Hancock with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Everett, North Star was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Hancock Panthers 42-6. That 36 point margin sets a new team best for the Cougars this season.

North Star's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lincoln Paulin, who rushed for 84 yards and one TD on only five carries. Will Eshleman was in the mix as well, providing the Cougars with two scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: North Star was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 221 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 150 rushing yards in three consecutive games.

North Star pushed their record up to 3-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.3 points over those games. As for Hancock, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, North Star will square off against Northern Bedford County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hancock, they will challenge Stonewall Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will be up against the Generals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.33 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
