Football Recap: Lighthouse Private Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Lighthouse Private Christian Academy came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 43-22 to the Monroe Academy Volunteers. While losing is never fun, the Stingrays can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 540th in Florida, while the Volunteers are ranked 222nd in Alabama).

Lighthouse Private Christian Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-4. As for Monroe Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Lighthouse Private Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sneads at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Monroe Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Wilcox Academy at 7:00 p.m.
