Basketball Recap: Panorama Comes Up Short

Panorama lost against Van Nuys back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Panorama Pythons had to suffer through a 63-19 loss at the hands of the Van Nuys Wolves. The Pythons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-9.

VALERY QUEZADA and Yadhira Hermenegildo certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. QUEZADA posted 11 points in addition to six boards and three steals, while Hermenegildo had a point along with ten rebounds and three steals. Hermenegildo is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Even though they lost, Panorama smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Panorama and nudges their season record down to 6-9. As for Van Nuys, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Panorama will be playing at home against Sun Valley Magnet at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Sun Valley Magnet will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Panorama surely won't give up without a fight. As for Van Nuys, they will venture away from home to take on Canoga Park at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for Canoga Park: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Van Nuys has snatched up ten consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
