Recap: Crossroads Roadrunners vs. Cardinal O'Hara Hawks
After flying high against the Desert Oasis Diamondbacks on Tuesday, the Crossroads Roadrunners came back down to earth. Crossroads suffered a tough 60-40 defeat at the hands of Cardinal O'Hara on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Crossroads can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 175th in California, while Cardinal O'Hara is ranked seventh in New York).
Several Roadrunners players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lulu Chahinian, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Sage Rawles, who scored ten points.
Leading Cardinal O'Hara to victory were Kyla Hayes and Annabelle Day. Hayes dropped a double-double on 16 points and 18 rebounds, while Day scored 18 points along with six rebounds and six steals. The game was Hayes' seventh in a row with at least ten points. Jordyn Williams was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Crossroads' defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Cardinal O'Hara, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.
