Softball Recap: Rabun County Takes a Loss

Rabun County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Elbert County Blue Devils. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 18-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Rabun County's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Elbert County, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Rabun County will square off against rival Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Elbert County is set to challenge their familiar foe Banks County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Blue Devils 3.7, the Leopards 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
