Basketball Recap: Coudersport Comes Up Short

Coudersport was the 36-31 winner over Northern Potter when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Coudersport Falcons fell just short of the Northern Potter Panthers by a score of 35-33 on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Falcons have lost by exactly two points.

When it comes to explaining why Coudersport lost, don't look at Olivia Fink. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 boards. Another player making a difference was Macie Popchak, who posted five points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Coudersport smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Coudersport now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Northern Potter, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coudersport will welcome Oswayo Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northern Potter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Port Allegany at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
